Join Fresh Air Learning for hands-on exploration of local plants and natural materials this year! These workshops are for parents and children who want to discover more about the forest together. These hands-on workshops involve guided activities exploring local ecosystems, play, and projects such as cleanups or creating with medicinal plants.
Fridays, 10 am to 12 pm

Get connected to what’s happening in nature in all seasons of the year. During these ecosystem explorations, learn more about the plants and animals that live at Jericho Beach Park, and help take care of the park as well. These workshops are a combination of play-based and guided learning.

Explore and create simple, seasonal herbal remedies in these hands-on family workshops.
Cara was born in Hamilton, Ontario. She moved to British Columbia several years ago, and continues to be inspired by the beauty of this province. Cara is passionate about providing children with an opportunity to feel capable, confident and curious in the outdoors and hopes to help foster a sense of wonder and respect for our natural environment. Cara believes that nature is our best teacher and that children deserve ample time to play and learn from the outdoors.
Cara has a B.A. in English and Cultural Studies from McMaster University and completed the Early Childhood Care and Education program at Vancouver Community College. She has worked in preschools and in private childcare. In her spare time, Cara enjoys adventuring with family and friends and discovering as much of British Columbia as she can.
