"I believe the world is incomprehensibly beautiful — an endless prospect of magic and wonder."
A Typical Session
with Fresh Air Learning's School Programs
Explore nature with your class!
In Vancouver, we're surrounded by oceans, rivers, and forests. However, your students may struggle to get outdoors. Many families live in apartments, and children can't just run outside and play. By bringing nature connection to your school, you can invigorate and inspire your own teaching while providing your students with ongoing, hands-on experiences in nature.
Connecting children with nature means that:
Children develop a deeper understanding of natural systems and cultivate their ability to ask questions about the world.
Children explore in a hands-on way, engaging all of their senses.
Children connect to place and to each other in new ways.
Children become physically and emotionally resilient and connected to something greater than themselves.
Our school programs work to make outdoor learning simple for you as a teacher.
We work with you to help determine where you can go.
We help you assess the risks and the learning and stewardship possibilities in these spaces.
We help you make the connections between curriculum and what your students experience outdoors.
We co-teach with you to model outdoor teaching techniques as you develop your own outdoor education skills.
