Stories in the Forest

Six Weeks of Literacy Exploration

Where do literacy and forest school meet?

Join us for five weeks of delightful storytelling, singing, and outdoor exploration. Children will create a nature journal and explore their own storytelling abilities using their imagations and materials from nature. Parents are asked to attend for one of the five sessions. This program is for children ages 5-7.

Please note that there will be no class on Thanksgiving.

Your Teacher

Tricia Edgar

Tricia is a writer and avid children's story collector who loves creating and reading stories. She sees storytelling as a way to build culture, share experiences, and create connections to place.

Tricia has been learning outdoors with children since 1996, when she started working at the Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre developing and leading nature programs for children, families, and school classes. Together with a group of interested families, Tricia founded Fresh Air Learning in 2011. She's always delighted to learn by playing and exploring with Fresh Air Learning's preschool and elementary groups. Her favourite part of nature school is getting muddy.
